DIY Foot Treatments That Will Keep Your Feet Salon Smooth

DIY Foot Treatments That Will Keep Your Feet Salon Smooth

Dry skin on the feet is a common concern, particularly during the winter months when cold air and wearing closed shoes cause the skin to lose moisture and become sensitive.

But fret not – this issue can be easily tackled at home with simple yet powerful remedies. In this article, we’ll show you how to revive your heels and restore their softness, all without stepping outside.

What causes dry cracked skin on feet

Cracked heels can occur due to various reasons:

  • Ill-fitting footwear
  • Insufficient water intake
  • Exposure to environmental factors
  • Deficiency of vitamins A, E, and B group, as well as minerals like zinc, copper, and manganese
  • Overweight
  • Fungal skin infections
  • Endocrine disorders (hypothyroidism, diabetes)
  • Age-related changes

To effectively heal cracks on the heels, consider using the following masks that provide intense moisture and restore the skin’s softness.

Glycerin and Vinegar Masks

    Ingredients:

    • 2 tbsp Glycerin
    • 2 tbsp Apple cider vinegar
    • Sea salt (for foot bath)

    Preparation and Usage:

    1. Mix equal parts of apple cider vinegar and glycerin.
    2. Before applying, soak your feet in hot water with sea salt (20 grams per 1 liter of water) for 15 minutes.
    3. After soaking, use a pumice stone to gently exfoliate the feet, then apply the vinegar-glycerin solution.
    4. Wrap your feet in plastic wrap, put on socks, and go to sleep.

For the first 10 days, perform this procedure every day. After that, reduce the frequency to 2-3 times a week to maintain the results.

Lemon Juice and Petroleum Jelly Mask

      Ingredients:

      • 1 tsp Petroleum jelly
      • 1 tsp Lemon juice

      Preparation and Usage:

      1. Mix the petroleum jelly with lemon juice until you get a smooth paste.
      2. Before applying, soak your feet in hot water with sea salt (20 grams per 1 liter of water) for 15 minutes.
      3. Apply the mixture to your feet.
      4. Wrap your feet in plastic wrap and put on socks.
      5. Leave the mask overnight. In the morning, rinse off the residue with warm water.
